Is there a single best layout for a landing page? Well, I analyzed 13 top resources on the best possible landing page layouts and best practices to find some common denominators. Full list of sources shared at the end.
First, here are the 5 highest recurring landing page tips from these sources:
12 of the sources stress clear benefit communication above the fold and visitors should know “what this is” and “why it matters” in seconds.
Add a singular CTA here as multiple CTAs dilute attention and reduce conversions (3 sources agree)
Vast majority of the sources mention that trust signals (testimonials, logos, ratings) make the page feel less risky and more credible, especially near decision points.
3 sources note that the area following the hero should be about the benefit points, supporting icons and visuals to help visitors see the value in the product. If your product is a service, a “How it Works” area may be more beneficial here to eliminate confusion about the next steps.
Mailchimp mentions adding an FAQs section to help reduce friction and doubt. This is also a chance to build a safety net for decision-making.
